From a passage idea to active navigation.

BayPilot organises planning, condition assessment and route guidance. Every mode uses the same map and a shared passage context.

01

It does more than answer. It uses BayPilot tools.

Captain AI is a sailing assistant and knowledge base. It can explain weather or regulations and, for a specific passage, use routing, forecasts and place data to prepare an analysis matched to your plan.

Precise tools. A calm, clear interface.

Each feature has its place, but they all work with the same passage plan.

Route: fast passage planning

Set a start, destination and up to 10 stops. BayPilot calculates the route, nautical-mile distance and passage time for a chosen speed. Save the finished route or export it to GPX.

Weekly cruise planner

Build a multi-day cruise by days, sailing hours, speed, stop type and return-to-start preference. Include wind, overnight stops, fuel, a preferred destination or suggested shelter.

Weather and marine conditions for sailors

Use 1- or 3-hour intervals and 1 / 7 / 14-day ranges for any point. Check wind, gusts, direction, precipitation and temperature, plus water temperature, sea level, wave height, direction and period.

Four map views and layers

Switch between Base, Satellite, Marine and Navigation. Enable marine marks and lights, spot depths, contours, bathymetry and POIs for each stage of your passage.

Navigation on the water

Once a route is active, monitor position, COG, SOG, BRG, distance to destination and the next waypoint. Choose the COG-line length, North Up or Course Up, and record your track.

POIs on the water and ashore

Marinas, buoys, anchorages and fuel, plus more than 20 shore categories: restaurants, bars, shops, pharmacies, laundries, museums and more. Check contact details, ratings and reviews.

Your places and the community

Add your own POIs, suggest updates to place information, and share reliable ratings and reviews that help other sailors.

Your routes stay with you.

Save a passage plan, return to it later and transfer it to other compatible applications.

GPX route export

Generate a file directly from Route or Planner and use it in compatible navigation applications.

Route archive

Every saved route goes to your archive. Open it again, review it and export it whenever you need.

What you need to know before you begin.

Is BayPilot an app for planning sailing routes?

Yes. BayPilot lets you plan routes, check distance and passage time, weather, map layers, marine marks, depth contours and bathymetry.

Does BayPilot work on Android?

Yes. BayPilot is available as a browser-based web app and as an Android app. Once the required data has been prepared, it can also be used offline.

Does BayPilot have an active Navigation mode?

Yes. After planning a route, you can start Navigation and track your position and passage. BayPilot shows COG, SOG, BRG, ETA, remaining time and distance, the next waypoint, and can record your track.

Does BayPilot show marine marks?

Yes. Marine and Navigation layers show marks and information useful during planning. Marine marks are available globally.
